OK – we all have to face some really long runs in preparation for the marathon – there’s no getting away from it. We have to prepare our bodies and our heads for the long journey.
In January when Allan and I were on holidays we did a 33km walk at the Gold Coast and that was a pretty good endurance test – to go with the sunburn and sand blasting. But there was more to come.
This weekend – Sunday 25th March - I did 7km on Friday morning, 25km on Saturday and 7km on Sunday. What really surprised me, was that I was not sore afterwards. After the 25km run, I was hungry and tired but had more left in the tank.
I don’t run with an iPod – I just look around, clear the mind and think. But on this run, I tried my new iPod Nano and it distracted me – ear buds and things to adjust. I need to make a call – to run with Nano or not??
