Running with the Balloons!

So many people say, gee – it must be hard getting up ay 5am to go for a run before work.  Well, it’s not really hard.

And the reason why it’s not really that hard is that you know that each morning is a gift – and when you get out that early, something unexpected always happens.  If you hit that snooze button, life passes by and you never know what you missed out on.

This morning, it was the beautiful flotilla of hot air balloons over Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra.  So many people were out running, doing boot camp - and quite a number of people with very impressive and professional looking cameras had positioned themselves along the lakeside to capture the beautiful spectacle of the balloons at sunrise.

In the final stages of my run, as I was about to head under Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, a balloon appeared in front of me and it looked as though it was skimming the water.  Quick – out comes the iPhone and I captured the moment.  I am no photographer – but I was pretty impressed with this shot – the balloon, the morning sky, the reflection on the water and the arch of the bridge.  I love my iPhone!!
