One of my interests is sports fashion - and I am in sports fashion heaven here in London. Yesterday, Steve and I spent hours in Oxford Street - in the Nike Store, Addidas Store, and in the London 2012 Olympics Store. The designs are awesome and so inspirational - Stella McCartney has done a beautiful job on the Team Great Britain design. Just think - sports stores are tourist destination - and the retail service here in London appreciates that fact, that they are not just selling merchandise but a tourist experience. The staff are energetic, friendly and above all - they know their product! I am calling out to major Australian retailers - David Jones, Myers, Rebel Sports - you need to change your business model, invest in service and a bit of life and energy in your stores and the business will come. Simple - no service, no fun = no sale. If the Australian retailers will not provide the sort of experience that London retailers provide - then I will continue to shop online - and not at the dreadful online versions of DJ's, Myers and Rebel!
Over the past few years, I have lost 25kg - a real team effort with Allan who is now my personal trainer. This year, I have completed two half-marathons and on 9-10-11 I completed the full Melbourne Marathon! We are working on other challenges to keep the fitness journey interesting...The LONDON MARATHON in April 2012! Along the way, I am interested in hearing about other fit sistas, and will be posting inspirational articles and stories...
