The hours are counting down - it's marathon day tomorrow - yeh! I like to be super ready, so after a walk and breakfast at a funky cafe on Oxford Street London, I went back to my hotel room and got my gear ready. My race number is pinned to my running vest, the timing chip is on my shoe laces, the Garmin watch is charged and my fuel belt is ready. There are lots of people staying in the hotel from all over the world who are here for the marathon - it makes for wonderful conversation in the lifts! There is anticipation, apprehension and excitement - there are lots of good people in the world! The Aussie marathoners will be heading out soon for an early pasta meal in Covent Garden - mmm, a nice carb loading and then one sleep to go!
Over the past few years, I have lost 25kg - a real team effort with Allan who is now my personal trainer. This year, I have completed two half-marathons and on 9-10-11 I completed the full Melbourne Marathon! We are working on other challenges to keep the fitness journey interesting...The LONDON MARATHON in April 2012! Along the way, I am interested in hearing about other fit sistas, and will be posting inspirational articles and stories...
