Love Your Lungs!!

I came back from holidays with the flu - the real thing, nasty in every way.  I have not been so sick for years - I had a full week off work and after two weeks, I am just starting to get my energy back. But the thing that really surprised me was how much it affected my aerobic capacity - and it got me thinking about how people manage their day to day life when they don't have the full capacity of their lungs.

For many people, this is out of their hands - suffering lung conditions - and my two weeks with the flu made me think about how people live every day with lung conditions.

But for many other people who choose to smoke, their reduced lung capacity is a condition of their own making. Every puff you take, damages your precious lungs.

I am almost recovered from my flu, and I can't say how thankful I am that I am once again breathing clearly and strongly.  I can't believe that people choose NOT to know this feeling.

Smokers - you should stop - you don't know or have forgotten what it is like to have clear strong lungs.  Learn to love your lungs!
